Vevo, the music video joint venture between Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment, is set to launch on Tuesday, Dec 8.
I went to the OurSocialTimes.com conference yesterday. I wouldn’t say it was a thrill, most of the discutions were lacking substance, focused more on features and what can/cannot be accomplished. I would have preffered to see real case studies since everyone is interested if/how/where/etc Social Media works.
If some things were worth it i would mention:
The Power of Listening&Responding: Skype - Robin Grant, Managing Directior at We are social showcased their fantastic implementation and consultancy project for Skype.
I also appreciated the fact that some of the audience agreed that at this point in time no one can guarantee anything when it comes to SM:
- results visible in 3-6 months
- no technological visibility
- the power of the tools is questionable (sentiment analysis)
- hardly any benchmarks
- confusion in getting a common ground for the industry language
- many, many others
I have a guess Google might come up with some good tools for this soon enough.
